Incentive travel & corporate trips to Madeira

TRCO participants on a mountain trail in Madeira above a cloud-filled valley

Peaks above the clouds. Green levada trails. An Atlantic voyage and an evening at Blandy’s. Madeira offers a fresh perspective, with TRCO’s experience behind the details.

The destination / Your group

A small island. A complete change of perspective.

Mountains in the morning, green valleys and Santana later in the day, then a shared table and time to talk. We have organised Madeira trips for VELUX and other companies, drawing on inspections, preparation and delivery on the island.

We use that experience to build a new programme for your employees or business partners. Activity levels, meeting time and the rhythm of the trip follow the group. A shorter four- or five-day stay is also possible; the extended example below covers six days and five nights.

Mountains and green levadas

Pico do Areeiro, Pico Ruivo and the island’s irrigation-channel paths offer very different ways to experience the landscape. We can choose viewpoints, a short walk or a more demanding trek. Distance, ascent and exposure are matched to participants. Trail access, booking requirements and weather are checked before confirming the route, with an alternative planned if access changes.

Madeira by 4×4

Small crews, local drivers and a changing landscape make a lively shared day. An eastern route can include Santana, while a western route is planned as a separate, coherent alternative. We use permitted roads and tracks, allow time for viewpoints and lunch, and agree the intensity and driving time with the group.

Monte and Santana

Monte’s wicker toboggans, guided by carreiros, create an energetic contrast with Santana’s thatched houses. We plan small groups and onward transport from Livramento. The toboggan experience depends on operating conditions; we check ticketing arrangements and allow for queues rather than promising a fixed departure slot.

Dinner at Blandy’s

Historic cellars in Funchal provide a setting for learning about Madeira wine, a tasting and a carefully prepared group dinner. The room, menu, table layout, branding and exclusive-use arrangements are confirmed for the event. Non-alcoholic alternatives and dietary preferences are included in the planning.

Funchal through its flavours

A guided visit to Mercado dos Lavradores introduces seasonal fruit and local produce. A pre-arranged tasting gives participants time to compare flavours, then a local lunch or culinary challenge can continue the experience. We divide larger groups and plan around market opening hours.

The Atlantic, then a glass of poncha

The Santa Maria de Colombo is a modern replica sailing ship offering a distinctive view of Madeira’s coast. We can investigate a private sailing, subject to capacity, availability and sea conditions. Back ashore, a poncha demonstration and dinner can include equally thoughtful alcohol-free options.

Your itinerary / 6 days / 5 nights

A programme to make your own.

Day 1 / Night 1

Arrive by the Atlantic

Arrival, hotel transfer and, if flights allow, a short Funchal walk. A welcome dinner introduces island flavours and poncha, with alcohol-free options.

Day 2 / Night 2

Funchal and Monte

Fruit tasting at Mercado dos Lavradores, Monte’s toboggans and lunch. The afternoon allows for rest or an agreed business session.

Day 3 / Night 3

Above the clouds

Mountain viewpoints and a selected short levada walk, or a longer trek for an active group. The route follows current access conditions and participants’ abilities.

Day 4 / Night 4

An island outing by 4×4

Local drivers, scenic stops and lunch. Santana can be included on an eastern route; a western itinerary is an alternative.

Day 5 / Night 5

Ocean by day, Blandy’s by night

A proposed Santa Maria de Colombo cruise, time to refresh and a final dinner with a Madeira wine experience at Blandy’s.

Day 6 / Departure

Views to take home

Breakfast and an airport transfer around the flight schedule, or the start of a separately arranged Porto Santo extension.

The sequence depends on flights, weather, attraction operation and confirmed reservations. Porto Santo can be a separate extension, for example two additional nights, with its own transport and accommodation arrangements and sufficient time before the international flight.

TRCO / From experience

Madeira, delivered by TRCO.

Our archive includes VELUX participants enjoying the Monte toboggans, mountain outings and carefully staged dinners. A VELUX reference relates to an 80-person Madeira trip held on 23–26 January 2024. We use this delivery experience to shape each new programme, rather than treating every group as the same.

Quality First! / Behind the scenes

From the brief to the last transfer.

01 / The purpose

We agree the people, objectives, pace and room requirements before choosing the final programme.

02 / The practical plan

Flights, transfers, accommodation, guides and selected activities are coordinated as one itinerary.

03 / The group experience

Dietary needs, activity alternatives, business sessions and shared evenings are considered together.

04 / On-site delivery

We agree communication, participant information and the scope of TRCO’s on-site coordination.

Planning your trip

Questions before we begin.

Does everyone need to take part in a difficult hike?

No. We can offer viewpoints, a short walk or a longer trek, with groups meeting again for lunch. Distance, ascent, exposure and pace are agreed around participants’ needs.

Are all mountain routes always open?

No. Access depends on current local rules, reservations, weather and trail conditions. We check the selected route and arrange guides, transfers and an alternative where needed.

Can we add Porto Santo?

Yes, as a separately planned stage. We arrange ferry or flight options, transfers and accommodation around actual schedules, with a suitable buffer before the return flight.

What affects the Madeira budget?

Dates, departure points, group size, hotel standard, selected activities and private-use arrangements. The proposal sets out the included services, optional experiences and the agreed level of TRCO support.
